I gave it a 50% chance someone picked up on that.
I did. Do I win a prize?

EVERYONE I have spoken to on camera and off says Hawaii Bowl... I mean it's not even a secret. June even said in the first post game press conference that he'd prefer Hawaii over the Liberty Bowl. Now please don't start the conspiracy theory that we might dog a game just to go to Hawaii! June was definitely speaking off the cuff. It was funny.

I would rather go to the Ft. Worth Bowl than Hawaii, A bowl thousands of miles away on Christmas Eve would almost take the fun out of it....thats pretty much the one day where many would not be able to get out of family obligations....
Liberty would obviously be the best...followed closely by the Ft. Worth Bowl.....

The only bowl game I have ever been to is The Liberty Bowl. This is a freezing venue I mean super cold. I hosted the UCF Bowl game tailgate there and I hauled in a Chimney with about a half cord of wood it was a huge hit. With out it I can't imagine how much colder we would have all been. It's located in a very old state fair park area. I don't like Memphis at all. Lika Sto;s gun shops, fried chiken, fast food... Pay was more than break even.
The other bowl I know a little about is the Hawaii Bowl and from what i recall it actualy cost UCF to go cost minus payout. Its warm though!
I am down for Cow Town!

We go to FTW we can pocket some cash. Some others I bet we break even. And, I have heard that with some bowls, the schools takes a loss.
Thank you.
BUS, Here is a link to the bowl payouts for all bowl games this year: http://www.football-bowl.com/bowl-schedule.html

Hawaii played in the Hawaii Bowl last year and I thought I remembered the payout to be $750k. They had the payout at that level to match other bowls.

I'd like to see us go to the bowl with the most national tv exposure against the most formidable and highest ranked opponent. I think this would be a real asset when recruiting. So, would this then be the Liberty Bowl - just dreaming. Go Ponies

1. Liberty Bowl -- big payout vs. SEC 2. St Pete Bowl -- good payout vs. Big East (Florida okay but far away) 3. Armed Forces -- good for me (DFW); vs. MWC; ESPN 4. Hawaii Bowl -- good exposure, hard to go to; great trip for the players 5/6. New Orleans and GMAC -- N.O. has good location but vs Sun Belt, first bowl; GMAC is b/w BCS bowls (terrible) but against potentially good MAC team...BSU last year.
Eagle Bank would be #2 in my book. Long trip but would fly up to D.C. Good opponent and payout. That one's probably off the board.
What IF Houston loses in the championship game? Does a potentially #20-25 team play in the GMAC Bowl like Tulsa did last year, or would another bowl want to pick up the Cougars? It seems that Hawaii would take a 6 or 7 win SMU team over a 9 win UH team. ??
What if UH and SMU win out from here?
