Actually our updates were at least pretty relevant to the interest of the crowd in general...and included TCU's score.
I have no interst in the Big 10 scores, and personally (please realize I live in SEC country) no big interest in the Big 12. But I do have interest in big national games from all around the country. It is not hard to do. Surely someone upstairs knows some scores and can either read them or type them.

As sign of the end time -- Insane Posse and Statler agree on something! DON'T MIC THE BAND IT SOUNDS AWFUL! I challenge the game presentation folks (if we have any) to sit in 202-205. The sound delay is maddening. I feel like Dr. Who in a space time continuum vortex with the phasing in and out. Furthermore, the mics pick up only certain sections of the band. The first game it was trumpets. Navy game is saxophones. This week it was French Horns. NEWSFLASH - Altough they sound great French Horns don't have the melody that often and usually its countermelody like in Peruna (the fight song, not the horse )It makes the M Band sound horrible.

I agree that while far from perfect, the game presentation has been vastly improved. At least it's getting to the point where it's not embarrassing and much more bearable to sit through. And of course with the team winning, it takes a little more of a backseat. I thought the Monsters of the Hilltop and the Terminator were both pretty dumb, but now I am totally on board with the Terminator since I think we've blocked every kick since the PA announcer started it!

Not to nit pick, but I though it funny the PA guy kept saying "tonight" when it was not close to night time. Did I hear the PA guy call the Rice QB Margus Hunt? Overall a vast improvement though not perfect yet.

When the band gets bigger, there will be no need to mic the band. Hopefully, winning - and a few more band club donations - will increase participation in the band. If you want to upgrade the game presentation, upgrade the size of the band.
(But please, no more "Smoke on the Water" - geez, what a terrible song for a football game)
We don't need a 300-member band, but we do need more than what we've got. When the alumni played along with the band, THAT's what it should sound like - at least in terms of volume.

( Historically the M Band marched 96 (as in 96 guys and a doll). The last time the band marched 96 was in 1980. Ever since then, the University has failed to keep up scholarship money with the increase in tuition. When we went to the Cotton Bowl, Sun Bowl, and Aloha Bowl, M Band was about the same size it is now. The band is loud enough. They just don't get to play because the Press Box people will not let them. If you want the band bigger, it has to have additional scholarship money. The Diamond M Club gave over 85% of the money it raised this year to scholarships, thus the band is at 87. Also if you want the band to travel, give money as well as the budget only allowed for a trip to TCU and Houston. It is a miracle that we get so much out of the M Band with the puny budget it has.

it's too bad you can't really hear what is being said (when a lot is being said) on the east side...because of the echo

Maybe we can get Steve Perry for a bowl game to sing the anthem, if we get that far.
