I can see McCann getting some looks. He's tall for a corner and has the speed. It'll depend on his Pro Day. As for ES, I think it is likely he'll get drafted. Dillard is awesome, but he's 2-3 inches shorter than Sanders and maybe not as fast. Kennemer is a real tough guy, but just doesn't have the size in my opinion.

Kennemer reminds me of Bill Bates in size and speed -although I think Kennemer is a little heavier. Bates made it in his day (undrafted), but I'm not so sure in today's NFL he would stand a chance.

as for seniors - E.S. will be late round. Kennemar and Hudman are fine college players that have absolutely no chance in the pros and will not be asked to any camps. Lets not be such homers that we can't see reality here. McCann is too small also.

Maybe Margus. Padron - its so early its silly to even mention. Davis is also not a pro prospect - just not big enough for NFL LB.

McCann is 2 inches taller than jonas, and A LOT FASTER. ES should be drafted if he runs a decent 40. McCann could be a late draft pick... probably a free agent though... Its too early for Padron but not too early for margus? that makes absolutely no sense. Margus may be a freak athlete, but last time i checked the NFL doesn't draft guys because they are fg blocking specialists... Padron has the size, throws a tight spiral, and is accurate. What will hurt him is our offensive scheme. What percentage of snaps has Padron taken under center since he was a freshman in high school? his arm is still developing so I won't even start to measure that

I heard from a coach that he's 6'2", 220 (listed at 6'1", 206 on the roster). if he's 6'2", 220, he'd only have to put on 5 lbs/year to be around 240 his senior year. big enough if he's still anywhere near the 4.5 range.

Kennemer = Larry Izzo

I know at least one NFL team has already contacted the coaching staff to get information about Chase.

However if I'm a betting man, this time next year Chase will be slugging it out in his first year of law school.

ES needs a good 40 time, but he also runs pretty crisp routes. I think he'll get drafted.

While ES is very good, he's no Jarett Dillard. Dillard is the best-ever C-USA receiver and holds the NCAA record for career TDs along with almost all C-USA records. He is having trouble finding the field this season and I think he just got hurt. Somebody will take a chance, but tap the breaks on the "best-ever" stuff. Best at SMU, debatable. Best in C-USA, not even close.

Look, I'm not pretending to be an NFL scout, the topic was "possibile draftees". Do I think I'll see Chase or Bryce playing on Sundays? I doubt it. I didn't think Justin Rogers or Vincent Chase would either but they got some mild interest post-draft and I could see the same type of thing happening with those guys. Probably the best case scenario: special teams/practice squad.

The best NFL kickers average 60 yds a kick which is what Kellis was kicking in HS and college. He has some value, and may get picked up.

Re: Sanders. The "best ever" comment turns out to be overly optimistic. ES does have the most receptions, most receiving yardage, and most career TD catches records at SMU but you're right, Jarett Dillard will probably end up keeping his CUSA records easily. When I wrote that, I knew only that ES was one 100-yd receiving game from having the most in CUSA history and was 4th all-time in receiving yards and receptions. I thought it was very possible that he'd break them. It turns out he'll need 30+ catches in two games to beat out Dillard who's 2nd in CUSA and 700 yds to again beat Dillard who's 1st. And he's nowhere near Dillards 60 TDs so I concede that point. Regardless, I'd bet ES still projects to be the #25-30 receiver in the draft and as such will probably be drafted late 6 or 7 round. We'll see.

Pretty sure that bowl games count towards those stats...He may get the recptions if we win conference...
