Former SMU offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey (now at New Mexico) is one of six finalists for the HC job @ Sam Houston State.

From The Huntsville Item:

The final candidates are New Mexico offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey, Central Missouri head coach Willie Fritz, University of Alabama-Birmingham offensive coordinator Kim Helton, University of Houston co-offensive coordinator Jason Phillips, Klein Oak High School head coach Dave Smith and former A&M Consolidated and Killeen Harker Heights head coach Ross Rogers.

FYI: That's a different Dave Smith than the one who coached at SMU. ;)

I know he had a rough end at UNT, but he did put some great teams together for a few years. Also Ramon Flanigan was his OC while he was at UNT. Does anyone think this might be for a way for Ramon to get back into coaching if Dickey gets the job?
