I think a smart RB (Fields in this case), will realize that the RB's that are excelling in the league these days are guys who can run and catch out of the backfield. See Felix, Steve Slaton, Chris Johnson, MJD, etc.

It will help a RB's NFL stock immensely if they have experience running and catching the ball. I hope more realize this and gravitate to SMU.

Actually, Charles Waggoner started ahead of Eric Dickerson his freshman year and might (believe it or not) have been an even better back. However, he hurt his neck returning the opening kickoff at Texas Stadium the last game of the year in a game against Texas Tech and the rest is history.

I mentioned this on another thread..he was a stud and a really good guy...I believe it was the TCU game actually....
