I really hope it's not Hawaii. I hope Wisconsin kicks their [deleted] Saturday night in Honolulu. And I could give a flip about the marketing angle with SMU playing Hawaii.

IMO, this should not be about June playing his old school mixed in with us returning to a bowl for the first time since 1984. I think that dilutes it.

This should be about SMU rising from the ashes, playing in a bowl game for the first time since 1984 and how much the loyal fan base has waited for it and how Jones got it to turnaround.

I'm in the minority on this, and I don't care if I get blasted for it. The constant Hawaii infiltration on this board is such a beatdown.

In my opinion, the more we can remove ourselves from the Hawaii angle, the better we're going to be. I know it's going to be there in some facet because Jones is moving back there after he's done coaching and his connection to the state vast. But we don't need it thrown in our faces day after day after day.

We need to do our thing. And they need to do their thing. And hopefully, never the two shall meet -- including in a non-conference environment.

I agree that Boise would probably kill us, but the small chance of a win provides such big upside that it would be worth it to me.

Winning or losing vs Hawaii, Fresno or Nevada or losing to Boise will not make much difference in SMU's recruiting going forward or profile going into next year.

Beating Boise would make a huge difference so I say bring it on.

You guys better pray it's Hawaii in the Hawaii bowl for a few reasons.

1) Boise will kill ya by 40+
2) Nevada will kill ya by 50+
3) Fresno St. will beat ya by 21+
4) Hawaii will be toss-up.

Idaho is probable the only team SMU may have a for sure win.

For the sake of your program, lets hope you play Hawaii or Idaho. A 50+ loss to either Boise or Nevada will set your program back a few years.

their game vs. (irony here) Wisconsin was playing in the lobby of the hotel in Birmingham before we left for the UAB game. After our game, I remember seeing the final score and thinking how did Wisconsin come back to win that? Fresno was taking it to them

I would rather play against Hawaii or Boise State. Both games would generate huge publicity and if somehow we pulled off an upset, that would go much further than a win against Nevada.

I don't think a loss of any nature by SMU will hurt SMU recruiting. All anyone will remember is that we have a winning program and went to a BOWL ! On the other hand, a win over Boise WILL help recruiting.

They are looking for Moore to return in time for the bowl. Bell is done...for the year and probably for his career.
