maybe Bagice was the counter person and didn't want you to go to the Sheraton Bowl, he hasn't accepted the fact that SMU won 7 games and June Jones coached them to victory. Speaking of whom, Bagice and Mr. Pony have been very quiet ever since SMU qualified for a bowl game.

Al, I am very sorry you will miss the trip. Whoever heard you needed a specific credit card? You have a photo ID and an E-Ticket -- why would you need a credit card? Doesn't make sense to me. I am on United out of San Antonio this afternoon. I have my boarding pass, but I am also going to have my credit card. Again, sorry you will not be with us - I was looking forward to meeting you as I enjoy your posts. The good thing is this is only the first of many bowl games under June Jones coaching.

check the Travelocity or Expedia Contract-its definitely a requirement. In fact, I got a new AMEX Gold card that is supposed to replace my old card that expires at the end of December-I didn't activate it because I was worried about the same thing.

Al,

If you're going to be in Dallas , give me a call.

I have been on many, many flights over the years, and we always have booked with the company card, (points and miles) and never have had a problem. Did the same procedure this time, with all of my necessary printed info in hand. It was a scene from a movie at the check in line yesterday, and I'm sure that didn't help my situation. After three hours on the phone with Expedia and United, they agreed that it was their fault, and that I DO NOT, have to show that credit card. They tried to find another flight yesterday, but, everything was booked. After 20 years of going to all of these road games in bad places, for even worse results, I am going to ask United, how much is a dream worth?

sounds like it would make a good 'consumer issue' piece on a local news channel.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

So can they get you on a flight today or tomorrow? If so, you could at least see the game up close and personal.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Oh, no! just now seeing this as we were wondering where you were on the plane and now here at the hotel. The airport was a zoo, although we did online check-in and went straight to security at about 4:45 when we arrived. Boarding the plane was total chaos - Southwest has it right. I couldn't believe how long it took to board and seat one plane.

You are missed!

Big Al: I don't understand. United & Expedia should 'bite the bullet' and get you on a flight NO MATTER WHAT! You said they admitted that it was 'their fault'. If it were me, I'd be standing on a counter at DFW raising holy heLL.

I'm tremendously sympathetic to Al.

But as to the last suggestion: raising holy hell at an airport is a good way to end up on a variety of unpleasant lists if you're lucky... or in jail if you're not.

Lots of places you can make a scene for customer service if all else fails. An airport ain't one of them.
