Again that had nothing to do with the U. Coach Jones has said that if we go up by 35 points or more they can do want they want. Notice he did not do that until we were up 35. Coach Jones calls it his 35 point rule. Also, the team did a choreographed celebration as well and that included all types of players of various backgrounds. Let's not jump on Shawnbrey without having all the facts. He is a class young man and has been all year. We are overreacting.

I would be very much surprised if he was even drafted into the NFL this year or any year. He would more likely be a free agent. He is probably too small to be an NFL running back and his frame is too small to put on weight and not lose quickness. SMU has made great strides this year but Mc Neal only played against one defense, TCU, that is a premier defense in college football. How did he look against them?

Let just wait and see where he is projected ......if he can't get in the first 4 rounds he will stay and I suspect he won't be projected for the first 4 rounds so he WILL be back...and about the end zone antics...give it a break....we DESERVED a national show for all that this program has been through...C'mon when was the last time we could even do that stuff...it was great! Mcneal is a class act and whatever happens for him and his family, I hope its all good.

I don't think anyone on this forum is blaming McNeal for his antics personally. There are many fine young men who indulge in that stuff and they just learn it from someone else. I just abhor that type of behavior, think it is poor sportsmanship and think our culture is remiss for cultivating it. I surely don't hold it against an individual that does not know any better. I would really hate it though if SMU got really good and started to display the behavior of the Miami teams when Jimmy Johnson was their coach.

I hope to see a lot more of those TD celebrations at Ford next year. That will mean we are up by 35 points and McNeail is scoring. Both good things in my opinion.

Count me in the McNeail fan club - regardless of where he plays!

BTW - Should he come back . . . EA sports will finally rate an SMU RB with some skillz on NCAA 2010 next year. Shotgun option will rock for SMU next year in that game!

Maybe we should have asked them to hand out a participation trophy to Nevada to make them feel better about themselves.

Believe me I want him to stay too (he was the difference maker this year on offense -- OK the team attitude was the difference this year...but no doubt he saved us this year when DeMyron would have choked). But judging by his family situation (an ill mother and 2 of his own kids) and the fact that the types of run plays he gets are limited by the offense (it's always a draw folks) and what I've heard from the team, he'll most likely leave.

But hey if he returns I won't complain. I've been told otherwise though. I'm not getting my hopes up.
