Good "5 Minutes" Piece by Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch. He goes over the 35-13 drubbing that Navy gave to Mizzou yesterday afternoon. Interesting to read his take on the poor game-plan and adjustments made by the Missouri coaching staff compared to the excellent job done by Navy's.

When JJ retires, would Navy's Ken Niumatololo (a JJ protege) be a good candidate as his successor at SMU?

If we want to entirely change personel and alter recruiting...since you can't get more opposite offenses...

So the answer would be 'no'. ;)

You can. The Navy offense actually has more in common with the Run-and-Shoot than it does with, say, the Power I. I once heard Paul Johnson say that the difference between his offense and the offense West Virginia ran under Rich Rodriguez was that PJ puts the QB under center and moves the wings in tighter - it was otherwise similar.

Bottom line, though, Ken Niumatalolo would not be a good choice for a JJ replacement simply because JJ has brought in the players that he needs to pass 45 times a game, whereas Niumatalolo needs personnel for a team that runs 45 times a game.

JJ's still fairly young, and is just getting started on his greatest achievement.

Only JC has raised Laszuras (sp?) from the DP :!:
May the forth be with us.

Wouldn't mind the next coach to be an internal hire, maybe reinbold...

WAY too early.....I agree. Let's all savor what we've got goin' here and don't EVEN think that far ahead in the future regarding JJ. I kind of like right now and the direction JJ has us going. :D
