I think you should write a story about Peruna in Hawaii. Peruna is THE mascot of SMU, not a 10-year loaner from Maddy. At least his handlers know how to keep him under control.

The fact you can't get the analogy answers the question.

yawn. Once again, I like the mustangs. Once again, love Peruna. Hung out at the Peruna monument w/ my son while the supposed "Peruna sit-in" was to have taken place. Two other guys there.
Appreciate the passion though.
BUS is right.

I like the two new horses and the exposure it give to the wild Mustangs on Nevada and western US.
For those twisted ones.. think of it like this.
Peruna has two big strong buddies to go clubbing with.
Not so bad now is it.
SMU will NEVER get rid of peruna. NEVER.

I will take peruna over either of those 2 transgendered horses... They suck

Thanks.

Do a story about all 3 horses going to Hawaii. That would be fair.

Don't do the story. To much controversy.

The students made their decision, through the Student Senate, that Peruna was the ONLY mascot of SMU and should be the ONLY live animal at Gerald J. Ford Stadium for football games or other sporting events. The vote was 32 in favor, 3 opposed.
Support of the two horses given by Mrs. Pickens after SMU begged her to give them is tantamount to opposition to the students of SMU.
Do you want the students - the heart of SMU who will be loyal forever - to have a voice in campus governance, or do you want them to have no power to do anything when decisions are forced upon them by football coaches and SMU administrators who will serve their time here and leave?
There was an attempt to devalue Peruna at the Hawaii Bowl by having Maddie's two horses ride onto the field anytime Peruna would do his thing. If you were at the game, you know what I am talking about.

The geldings have had a lot of press about Hawaii - a couple stories in the DMN, the Peppard column today. Nada has been said about Peruna. Peruna needs his day in the spotlight.

All 3 had stories in the DMN.

wasn't the vibe I got. Peruna led the team...led the SMU presence...onto the field. The Mustangs accompanied the team onto the field. I thought it was cool. The other day I learned something from someone on here. "Reasonable people can disagree."

I thought the pregame stuff was done right, if you are going to have all three horses there. What I thought was done wrong was this: SMU scores a TD. Peruna runs across the field. While he is running across, the two big horses come onto the field and the cowboys trot around on them, waving their hats in the air like two idiots who had too much to drink at the local saloon, diverting attention away from Peruna.

This latter point says it all. The athletic dept. doesn't care about spitting all over the students. By the end of the season, they'd already reneged on the agreement made between reps of the student senate, 2 player reps and the administration. http://smumustangs.cstv.com/genrel/110609aab.html
