SMU is disfunctional as each college has their own endowmwnt. #1 at SMU is Meadows School of Arts. That AINT being spent on girls softball.

Your example gave a state school with state funding. Just look to Washington if you want to really compare those realities. NOT

Sports has to take care of sports. That is what SO is trying to do. And that is minus the gift of tuition.

There's no state funding or organizational structure that can support a $1 bil difference.

Yes SMU's athletics department is cash-poor but the school has the money to spend if they so choose to spend it.

Since you are in tune with the Mustang Club, let me ask you this - roughly how many members are there and roughly how much is the average donation? How can we all work to increase the average donation?

I have been told I a little off key at times

From what I know, there are a little over 6000 M-clubbers. As a GUESS I would put the average donation at $200 dollars per.

That also leaves out the Elite members that 20 or so put in another 100 thousand a pop.

So, that gives 3.2 million per year total.

SMU Athletics is working towards being self funding. Winning will help and the 35% increase in applications to SMU may encourage the other parts of SMU to donate/fund/support athletics more.

SMU needs an Athletic endowment and I believe it was started just a very few years ago.
