I've stayed at a homewood in scottsdale. N. Scottsdale Rd I think. Homewood>TCU.

TCU's more like the Hampton in Tempe.

Oregon State is the stupid one. It gets them on TV and Texas recruiting exposure but wouldn't they take a big pay cut by hosting it at Cowboys Stadium vs. losing a home game? Is this a one game deal or is TCU playing their home game at Cowboys Stadium the next year, or maybe at the Seattle Seahawks home stadium? ;-)

It's a one time deal put together by ESPN. Both schools are getting a large payout for it. In TCU's case, it as much or more than the revenue of a home game against a second FCS opponent (which was probably the alternative) would have been.

ESPN brokered the whole thing. ESPN wanted Texas at Texas Tech on 9/18. Problem was that TCU at Texas Tech was scheduled for that day. Tech wanted to bump us and didn't want to keep us on the schedule at all this year (can you really blame them? breaking in a new coach and system against an OOC of SMU, Houston, AND TCU in the same year. OUCH!). We were going to be scrambling to fill 2 games for 2010 (the FCS home game had yet to be filled at the time). ESPN comes in and says to TCU "move your game with Tech to another year and we'll give you the spot and the payout in the kickoff game at Cowboys Stadium and find you a BCS opponent." (ESPN signed a 5 year deal with Jerry for a kickoff "classic" there.) We obliged. ESPN found Oregon St for us.

All in all, sounds like a good deal for TCU, but unless Jerry does some major marketing of the game for you, Jerry World will look a bit under used for that game. Hope you get a big win out of that game...it will make our win over TCU look even better.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I understand Notre Dame and the History and Tradition. What does SMU bring to the table?

Nah, Washington State at least brought ND a guaranteed win. SMU probably blew any chance of playing ND by winning more games than they lost last year. ND is a joke.
