Big 12 survival prediction. CUSA raid.
http://www.herald-dispatch.com/sports/x ... redictableWhat isn't being taken into consideration is the Big 12's considerable resources. Even if seven schools leave, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor and Missouri still have a powerful bargaining chip.
According to NCAA by-laws, all revenue from the NCAA men's basketball tournament stays with the conference. So, departing Big 12 members would forfeit their share. And that's considerable considering the Big 12's recent success.
That would amount to a war chest rumored to be as large as $17 million for the remaining members, not to mention exit fees. So, it's more likely that the remaining Big 12 schools would raid other leagues for replacements.
For example, it easily could lure TCU, Houston, SMU, Brigham Young, Boise State, Utah and, perhaps, Tulsa.
The Big 12 could survive, but the WAC or Mountain West might dissolve.
