'94 said about 11 years. I disagree. It's more like 24 years,(1987).

So many zombie threads as of late. They're almost as bad as the multiple thread issue we're having :p

I think we could achieve good fan support doing how we have been doing, but I think for us to reach a level of GREAT fan support, we must win at least 7 games a season on a regular occasion. I tell you what, all the cards are in our hand right now. With the new Ford Stadium, excitement is higher for SMU football than it has been since the death penalty. If we were to win 8 games this year (it is very possible), and go to a bowl game, I dont think people would believe the fans support we would start to get. Granted, it would not be like any of the state schools, but they are so very much bigger.

NEW? Ford Stadium? it's 10 years old.

So is the post you have quoted. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Just remember... When, and I say "when" we get back on top, let's not take it for granted this time.

I do think the new stadium and its size will definitely lead to some huge improvements and will be a welcome change from the Cotton Bowl. Maybe people won't be so afraid to cheer and hopefully it will be packed and people won't be able to socialize.

11 years have passed, but I have finally arrived.
