Dr. Turner,

As a SMU alum and huge Mustang Club supporter, I am quite disturbed by the recent events. I don't understand how a student can get denied
at the last minute. What sort of message does that send to other student athletes? How does this happen at SMU? Why isn't there a better process in place?
I am embarrased by the university's actions.

There were promises many years ago about "The Commitment" and how SMU is committed to success and Top 25 programs.
We heard about how student athletes would be admitted as NCAA qualifiers when June was hired.
There was mention of loosened restrictions for recruiting.

How can we trust SMU in the future when we keep getting lied to. Why should I continue sending money to the Mustang Club?

I hope this situation is resolved quickly. I am also hearing that June has not signed his extension. This is not good news.

Keep pounding him, there are two things that get his attention, the possibility of his name smeared, and money. If you spend a dime on this school, mention it!

I emailed Turner tonight. I said I was eating my season tickets until Jones is gone, and not going to bother giving them to my Aggie brother for the next game either or even stubhubbing any of the tickets, as I do not wish any butts in seats that will add any $$ support to this abomination of a football program in it's current configuration.

I will not continue to be a contributing enabler.
Then I wished him good luck in the coaching search.
