We didn't. Bo Levi did.

Well I wouldn't put all the blame on the QB. Coaches put him in the position to win it or lose it. Coaches failed to minimize his "lose it" chances during that game. I would put more blame on a coach who has failed to win against a BCS team on the road during his whole college coaching career then a QB who was put in a position to lose the game rather then just trying to secure a sure win.

Good point. I forgot the coach's threw two INT's that were returned for TD's.

One question, Could it have been said any better than Junior just put it? I think not.

Question why were we passing late in the game when we should have been running clock with our running attack? As I recall games after the WSU loss the offence was more balanced with SM getting a lot of work. The coaching staff has to share the blame for that loss

Because this is June Jones and he employs the Run and Shoot. That is all.

I agree. BM was a well-known loser, and he performed exactly as expected. The coaching staff was no doubt attempting to break his losing ways, but it resulted in a loss. Given that BM never changed his ways, the coaching staff looks even worse.

I *love* how warbow brings up that JJ never beat an AQ-conference team on the road while he was at Hawaii, but he neglects to mention that Hawaii played *3* games in 9 years when JJ was the coach. At USC, at Alabama (which Hawaii would have won without multiple dropped passes by Bess early in the game and an unforced fumble by Colt on the final drive), and at Michigan State.

It wasn't JJ's fault that Hawaii's AD was pitiful at scheduling games. When Hawaii couldn't get enough games in 2007, it was reported that JJ was talking with Mike Leach on trying to get a Hawaii/Texas Tech game to start the season on ESPN. The AD shot it down because he "had the scheduling under control" and then he failed to fill the schedule.

Late in the game?

The first returned pick was with 1:16 left in the 3rd quarter.

The second returned pick was with 10:07 left in the 4th quarter.

It's not like there was just 3 or 4 minutes left on the clock or something (overtime aside obviously).

I don't blame them for keeping him in. Jones obviously looks at conferences games as the important games, and OOC as times to hone skills, at least until we are good enough to run the table.

Jones had no choice but to keep BM in there throwing in a desperate hope that his mind would improve enough for him to get us through the season without being a QB embarassment again. He needed all the practice he could get until he could be replaced.
