It largely depends on your characterization of great. Is great just passing stats ala Case Keenum or is great doing the other things. Like I said Dalton is good for near 50 yards rushing which makes defenses account for him out of the backfield, he gets the ball into playmaker's hands and spreads it around TCU's offensive weapons. He makes expert reads on run option plays knowing when the back should get it and when Dalton should run it. He is about to become the winningest QB in TCU history and rightly or wrongly the QB position gets most of the credit for wins and losses. Now I'm not saying AD for heismen, but if you ever saw Casey Printers play the position Dalton is great for what TCU wants to do on offense. He rarely turns it over or loses games for TCU. The exceptions being the Fiesta Bowl (but his WRs hurt him horribly that game) and Utah 2008, a game in which Dalton was largely the reason for the loss.

As for the D... Hughes is gone but we return the other 3 linemen. Washington is gone which hurts a fair amount, but we return our secondary which should for once be our defense's strength instead of our front six. Washington is being replaced by Tanner Brock who ya'll might recall was the psychopath who made that bonecrunching block on a return against ya'll while not wearing his helmet. If he plays with that kind of passion and aggression all season he should be a solid and worthy replacement of Washington.

Looking forward to the matchup this year though I really wish the game wasn't on a Friday night. I guess getting our rivalry game nationally broadcast is some consolation though and I'll certainly be rooting for ya'll to come into that game undefeated. Go Ponies....till then.
