I agree Peruna needs to stay just the way he has always been. :thumbupcool:

Traditions should not be tossed out the window like an old sweater because certain "new kids on the block" do not understand tradition and feel the need to "change for the sake of change".

Ok ha ha ha. Nice try at pretending I am not today as big as a supporter of Peruna in 2010 as I was in 2003. Peruna has and will always stay "the way he always has been". Peruna has not changed. The Peruna tradition has not been "tossed out the window" any more than our cheerleader tradition was tossed out the window when we later added a pom squad. Fellows Peruna will live forever.

I believe it is befitting for the simple fact that the Peruna Memorial has been a part of Ownby Stadium and Ford Stadium for over 65 years. I think we should respect the wishes and decisions of the Peruna lovers who thought the design was a proper tribute to the mascots who served SMU. Don't confuse meaning and tradition with $$$.

However, a fiesty Peruna bronze statue would be appropriate - maybe out front of Heritage Hall.

OT: There are 3 statues of Joe Jamail on the campus of UT - there is ONE statue of Bevo.
