The offense is not clicking because KP is struggling to find the open man. He is young, relax. When he gets into a rhythm the O-Line lets him get smacked which throws off his confidence. Some consistency on offense from the receivers and from the line will give KP a chance to grow. We also need a faster back. I am Zach's biggest fan, but the McNeal/Line combo that should be would have us winning games and would open up the Wide Outs for KP to get the ball to. That is what worked in Hawaii and that is what we have been missing all season.

I wish he would take off more and just slide so he will not get hit. Sometimes when the wideouts are not open he has a lot of room in front of him to pick up positive yardage.

bradley haynes is very sure handed. i have been very impressed by him since he has been getting more balls his way over the last couple of games. seems like he was our most consistent wr against uofh although i do remember him dropping one ball.
i was impressed by line but he did drop the one ball thrown to him on a littlle screen.
we do miss a rb to throw to on swings out of the backfiled.

we could pick this thing to death.
uofh beat us plain amd simple. they looked a lot bigger, especially their d line.
we don't have the overall talent they have right now.
we do have the talent to beat tulane utep and marshall. ecu is a maybe.

I'm going to watch game film with June in a few .
He will tell us what is wrong, and guide us in the direction we need to go.

A speedy running back who can break out into open field would be nice. Line is good, but he really is just a short yardage running back. He usually runs and takes the tackles then dives at the end to get additional yardage. Give Fields a shot?

Unlike SBS, I don't think KP wants to hold onto the ball until he gets sacked. Several plays have the receivers all running down the field. Some never look for the ball, others are covered, yet, there isn't a safety valve for him to dump to. He looks to run when the protection breaks down, and with the right tackle allowing every rusher to cross in front of him, KP is usually running for his life. On the play KP fumbled, did you notice the receivers all running down field (not looking) and the right tackle getting whooped? KP never saw the defender because he was hit back side, thus the fumble. Do you believe that JJ doesn't understand we are a work in progress? Go to the luncheon and hear what he has to say. i trust him more than I do "Monday morning QBs" who've never played the position or even the game at the collegiate level. Believe it or not, the other teams play with scholarship players too. We are 4-4. Last year at this time we were dancing because we beat Tulsa. What was our record? How about 2 years ago? We were 1-7. Give me a break and start supporting the team and coaches instead of [deleted] and making outlandish statements that you can't support. Saturday was a team loss, including the coaches. JJ knows he made mistakes as well. We could use our red laser and point it out to him, but normally, he confesses that he screwed up. Go to New Orleans and help our team win a game that is more of a must-win than the last one was.

If we can't be monday morning QB's and [deleted] when things go poorly, what's the point of having a message board?

Everyone knows how much better we are than we once were. Go back to the winless season. People weren't criticizing players because nobody thought they could do better. Everyone here knows we have players with potential to do more!

I agree with your point but actually there were a bunch of posters that thought that last Bennett had a bunch of talent and was severely underperforming. They were generally wrong. I agree that Its quite obvious that this team has much more talent than that one.

You have a speedy running back in Line who can and has broke out into the open field. Funny that this short yard runner has more yards then any other back in the conference. But you are right about one thing...he does tend to finish falling forward for addtional yards.

Whoa Ponies, lets put down the denial..

Kyle Padron seems to be more of a Center Fielder than a quarterback. I bet he could take two steps from the wall and make a pretty good throw. He could look down first and third or lumber down on a tag up. He would not have to take a sack and take as long as he likes to give up the ball. Or maybe a pitcher, he already has a good wind up. Just a thought..

I watched Boise State and Kellen Moore last night. Relaxed, smiling and having fun. I remember him being "touched" once. He was never under real pressure in the pocket, he released before pressure came close and then made accurate strikes on the run if necessary. HE knows where his receivers are going and the routes they will take, without looking or locking on. He puts the ball in the receivers sweet spot so they don't have to constantly make one handed saves. One last thing, I believe Moore could walk onto the SMU game day field with Kyles receivers and pass this team into the endzone in less than eight plays first series. My point is, If the ball is properly delivered those receivers would be excellent.

My frustration, even though when Kyle had the three picks against Texas Tech, I believe he looked his best. He was reacting relatively quick to what he read in that game instead of being afraid to pass unless he hail marries the ball down the field or has someone standing alone flat footed and waiting for christmas.

JJ has been very understanding of his lack of experience as most everyone has. Hawaii went through six quarterbacks before finding the Pizza guy who walked on and delivers in the middle. two weeks ago it was time for Kyle to figure out a method to bring forth positive change. What is the old saying "ignorance is letting your quarterback do the same thing and expecting a different result". Until then I believe the rest of the team without confidence in a confident quarterback will continue to back off and gradually be less and less productive. I like Kyle and want him to succeed even though his natural mechanics are a defensive backs dream. I would much rather have interceptions than fumbles, sacks and late desperate throws. My prediction, Tulane will embarrass us if Kyle plays his usual game.

Fields is not the answer, ever since he got hit and bruised he has been running sideways at half speed. JJ will move him to the receiving core next year.
