Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?When Emmanuel Sanders and Bryan McCann were back there, Coach McKnight was a genius. Remember?
There's plenty of blame to throw around, but let's not suggest Coach McKnight suddenly doesn't understand special teams.
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?
I think it's completely valid to question his coaching when we keep f-ing up punts. It is getting ridiculous now. That has been an issue ALL season. The KO return has just sent people over the edge. You know things have gotten bad when the 12 people in my section today were begging to have NO ONE fielding punts. Just sad. ![]()
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?
A few of us have been suggesting not having anyone back to field punts for weeks now. Hell maybe McKnight should work on aggressive punt blocking, try to make something happen on punts that way. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?The crazy thing is that I'm to the point where having no one fielding punts actually sounds reasonable to me.

Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?
It would look pathetic but honestly it's the safest way to secure possession, our punt return unit has turned the routine into an adventure and it's time it stopped. I mean do we have to blow a game because of muffs before it gets fixed? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?I can't look when we are receiving a punt------it's like watching a scary movie!!
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?Anyone that has seen more than a handful of practices knows that there are more than enough players that can make plays on special teams.
But if the decision has been made not to try others, that's on the coach. Beat Tulane, it's the next game.
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?tough to replace a Frank Ganz
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?
yeah but is it tough to teach your guys to catch the ball? Or to call for a fair catch if they're about to get destroyed? Or to line up two guys on each side and tell them their only job is to eliminate the gunners covering the punt?
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?this reminds me of when we couldn't get a punt off.(kicked) That was a train wreck every time.
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?Once again, McKnight is fighting a losing battle. He has tried time and time again to change things up on special teams. He isn't able to get certain things ok'd. He is up against approvals and is frustrated as well. Before you throw a great coach to the wolves, make sure its the right one your tossing.
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?Can you explain his threats to supporters in the stands?
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?
did this really happen? Surprising and disappointing if so.
Re: When_is_Dennis_McKnight_being_fired_as_special_teams_coach?Yes: The loyal supporter was being vocal but not out of line.

I saw it, and it was shocking.
