I'm sorry, but these are not the sad-sack Bennett teams anymore.
Expectations have changed.
Yes, I will be thrilled if we go to another bowl this year and I will be at the Marshall game cheering on the Mustangs.
But to try to rationalize away the crap performances of the past few weeks isn't going to do any good.
Mental toughness must be as important as healing beat-up bodies during this bye week.

No one on this board plays with team - so it does not matter what our attitude is. I would submit the real losers start threads demanding the best coach the team has had since the death penalty retire. That is called being a fair weather fan.

This season is already our fourth best season since the DP. We have only been 5 wins or better 7 times since 1989. Let's just win the last two and we can all get along again - sort of.

Not sure what you mean. Who are some of this folks?

Of course, if we didn't argue, the board wouldn't be worth reading. Just trying to do my part.

Stepping back and reflecting a little. This has been one of the most entertaining seasons of Mustang Football in years. Last year was great because it was such a surprise. Yes... I screamed at my TV multiple times, thought about breaking some furniture during those personal foul calls on Saturday night (I refrained,,, barely).

This season has been so entertaining because for the first time I have hope. We are getting better and should have won this game. We were given a gift by UCF and threw it away. We can and will win more games than we lose. Our depth issues are being taken care of. We are going to be a solid program for many, many years. We are in our growing pains now. While these growing pains are emotional stab wounds when we blow opportunities, I know that we are not going to live like this for much longer. I just hope my furniture survives until we grow out of them.

I believe we needed a week off. I believe our legs are gone! We are still short on adequate replacements and will be for another good class or more. This one week break will do wonders to our legs...I believe. The receivers' legs are not getting them open and hopefully their quickness will return. I believe we will see a livelier team when we come back from the time off. We will get there eventually but now we are still short a good number of backups....Go Mustangs!

We are gonna be fine. As Mac said, "I don't know if we will be building character but we sure are gonna find out who has it"! Same goes for the fans. What a wonderful sport that has so many ups and downs. Ask yourself "do I jump on the bandwagon when we win and complain when we lose"? If so you are like most fans but not a real supporter of your team. They support their team through the good and bad. Wait until after the season is over to judge. Unless you are a cowboys fan.

Turnovers and poor play from special teams have been plaguing us all season. We've been giving up too many long returns on kicks and our punt returning has been an unmitigated disaster. We still can't figure out who to put back there.
And, it's been putting us in bad field postion all year. It seems that most of our drives begin inside our own 20-yard line.
