I have never seen where anyone involved has ever said James or Dickerson were paid.

Umm, then I suggest you might want to come up to Dallas this Thursday to the premier of Pony Excess and hear what they had to say on the subject...

From the little I've seen of the movie (about 15 minutes at Lakewood's 1st & 10 last Wed.) Dickerson goes into detail about the gold Trans Am he got from "his grandmother" (a.k.a. A$M), the going rate for players at various levels... Most enlightening.

He freely admits taking money, but also points out that everyone was doing it. It was essentially an arms race escalation to pay for the best athletes.

Anyone that thinks during that era that the top players at every school in the SWC were not getting some extra inducements must believe in the "tooth fairy". There were a lot of white backs who gained over a thousand yards in one season in the NFL. James just happened to be the last one. I wonder if those who dislike James as much as they seem to really know him?

As happy as this time should be for Mustang fans, it would be nice if all negative comments about CJ or any other Mustang would go away for a while.
