Re: A Payroll To MeetFound my copy while searching for the lost ark in the Arabian desert. I enjoyed reading it during my tea breaks.
Re: A Payroll To MeetGreetings. I am the author of A Payroll to Meet.
The book has been out of print for two decades. Here is a link that might help you find a copy at your local library: http://www.worldcat.org/title/payroll-t ... c/19555913 If you'd like to buy a copy, I still have a few brand new first editions at home, which I'm offering, as of today, on eBay: http://catalog.ebay.com/Payroll-Meet-Da ... r-/2027801
Re: A Payroll To Meet
Mr. Whitford: I read your book a few years ago. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Very quick read. I would gladly purchase a copy. $100+ is a little steep for my blood. My first name is not Sherwood. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: A Payroll To MeetDo you think it's possible to look into a new edition being printed? There might be a market for it with the rise of SMU football and the ubiquitous praise of Thad's film.
Re: A Payroll To MeetBought a decent used copy online for $20 earlier this year. It pops up on ebay occasionally but usually for $35+. If you watched the ESPN film, there's nothing in the book that is anything new.

Re: A Payroll To MeetThats great to come on here Mr Whitford....I will get a book somewhere...any insight or interesting stories from your research for the book ( that didn't make it into the book) that may be of interest to Ponyfans?
Re: A Payroll To MeetGreetings SMU fans,
Just want to let you know that my 1989 book, A Payroll to Meet, is being reissued this fall in paperback by University of Nebraska Press. Available now for pre-sale at Amazon.com, http://www.amazon.com/Payroll-Meet-Stor ... ap_title_0
Re: A Payroll To Meet
Thanks David. I have an autographed copy of the book, but will definitely be buying a few paperbacks to hand out to my friends who are college football fanatics. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: A Payroll To MeetI have a hardcopy that I bought for a pretty steep price a few years ago. I've read it twice and lend it to fellow cfb fans. They all loved the book.
David - Would there be any way possible to have it signed by you? Feel free to send a PM. Thanks!
Re: A Payroll To MeetI'm happy to sign books. Just send your copy to the address below, together with a stamped, self-addressed mailer, and any specific signing instructions, and I promise to turn it around immediately. --David
