I wish they made contacts with pony logos in them. Those would be awesome.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Just be glad they appear to use a mustang with the appropriate swish to the tail.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Are you going under in a blue jersey or red jersey? I think your jersey ought to contrast with the handles... so you should go with the blue. Surely, you won't go for the "black-out"...

Want to be dignified -- the standard suit with tie; face-paint -- blue on one side and red on the other -- takes the pressure of the make-up guy and when people say he looks good, they can really mean it.

If anyone knows where I can get a coaches Adidas hat with the SMU Mustang on it - let me know. They don't seem to be available anywhere.

We need to buy more stuff so it's in demand, bottom line. Why would you carry something that nobody wants?

I agree, in part. Kind of wish we'd get some new fans though. Same group of a few thousand keep having to shovel all this hay into the barn

"Those are really neat college themed [t-shirts/bumper stickers/mugs/snow shovels/toilet seat covers/deer blinds] I see Texas, Baylor, A&M, NTSU and TCU, do you have SMU?"

"No. SMU doesn't license their logo; it is really hard to get permission to sell SMU stuff. Sorry."

Folks, I am here to tell you this is BS. I know there are some people on here who want to believe it. "It is SMU's fault. SMU is stupid. Of course, they are the reason I can't buy SMU [t-shirts/bumper stickers/mugs/snow shovels/toilet seat covers/deer blinds]. SMU is always stupid and does stupid things. It makes perfect sense that I should take the word of a stranger at a trade show I have never met."

The reason some places don't have SMU stuff is that they don't want to stock it because there isn't much demand. Period. End of story. If you want more SMU stuff, you need to buy more SMU stuff and encourage others to buy more SMU stuff.

For those of you that actually believe the "SMU tightly controls its logo and marketing," just remember this image:

Actually, your wrong... SMU bought their licensing rights back from ISP Sports, I believe around August 2008. They solely own their marketing rights. This is the true and honest reason why you don't see much SMU stuff at sports and specialty stores. SMU needs to do a better job of marketing various SMU products or sell the rights back to ISP or IMG.

Well, to test that hypothesis, from around 03-04 through 2008, when ISP was doing its thing, did everyone see an increase in SMU stuff available?

How can they do a better job marketing?...last I heard, SMU Athletic Department does not have a marketing department. They were all laid off several years ago.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

And its better to be laid than laid off.

there's definitely more available now than 2003-2008 - no doubt about it. was recently at the smu bookstore and there's gotta be at least 3-4x the amount that was there 5 years ago.
