Can anyone explain to me why these players are eligible for the bowl game?

per the ncaa mantra: "Where there are $$$, we can work it out."

BCS bowl is money...it is about travel money...it is about sponsor affiliation...the ncaa has no incentive to lose revenue by enforcing current violations in a timely manner.

Its all about the kwan for the NCAA....total BS as they should be banned from the Bowl game as well or announce the suspension AFTER the bowl game, to make us all feel better.

This is garbage! I'm not looking for the NCAA to get it right all of the time, but this selective enforcement is garbage. If this was one of our kids, the Fraudsters from Kansas would have his hide tacked to their wall and would be an example to all other players in college football.

I really have no problem with the NCAA enforcing minor benefits unrelated to recruiting during the regular season rather than in bowl games as long as its consistent precedent. I'd be interested in the precedent in recent years for these types of sanctions

The precedent is that large programs get to dictate their own punishment and the timing thereof.

If you defer the punishment the problem, or part of it, might go away. Out of five players one might flunk and/or another transfer. But, as previously stated, all will be there for the bowl game. And it gives the talking heads something to say.
