Re: We Need a New CenterI have thought all along that next year Tennison would be the center and McJ would be either backup center or backup guard.
I think we could put together two full lines next season. ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: We Need a New CenterAfter watching the DVR of the game, both interceptions were preceded by bad snaps (I know, I know, most snaps were bad so the chances were good those snaps would be bad as well). In fact, the first interception was the third bad snap in a row.
I'm not blaming the snap for the interceptions, but it doesn't help Kyle having to worry about that instead of reading the defense. #NewLobCity

I think he is saying that Fontana is supposed to be the center for next year (if he returns from his injury). "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: We Need a New CenterYou cannot count on Joey. He still cannot raise his foot and walking in a brace.
Re: We Need a New Center
I heard he was running now. And I know Joey was counted on to be center for three years starting this year until he got hurt. When he got hurt, and JL was ruled ineligible, they have to move Tennison to guard and McJunkin was essentially all they had. Depth being the problem which is why we are targeting so many OL this year. I have a friend whose son is a 6-3 285 OL from a school around Houston who was all district, and he is likely going to walk on here. He played guard in HS but I have told my buddy to do all he can between now and next fall and making him a center.
Re: We Need a New CenterFor what it's worth, I saw him running along the side of the field at Centennial High School (in Burleson) last week when the Ponies were practicing out there.
What an encouraging sight. Considering everything he has been through, and the amount of rehab involved, that was really awesome to see. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: We Need a New Center
I've seen him running too. He has really been working hard with Mel, he looks like a D1 center.
Re: We Need a New CenterI really like Joey and would love to support this fantasy but the kid has a brace on his foot and ankle and cannot lift his foot. I overheard his dad talking to another player's mom at the Mustang Club pre-game party that he may be facing another surgery. It does not look good.
Re: We Need a New Center"Running" and "cannot lift his foot" don't really jive together. Anyone able to get the whole story?

Re: We Need a New Center
good question. Derail the Frogs!
Re: We Need a New CenterI saw him at games 2-3 times this season and he was never in a brace. I call bullsh.
Re: We Need a New CenterJoey taking a slow jog is miles away from playing in a game. He can not move his foot side to side and is still is ruff shape. Do no count on him. Best of luck to him throughout his extensive recovery
Re: We Need a New Center
I'm sure everyone noticed the perfect snaps by the TCU snapper to Dalton? He didn't have to move his hands once, ball was mid-chest every time! Huge difference...
