Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? What did the Whorns visit the Chicken Ranch again? Same book, different chapter. UT will never get sanctioned for anything. I think its in the Bible somewhere.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?I'm sorry but this is hilarious!!!
Where's all these newspapers??? Remember "Pony Excess" talking about the newspapers 'creating a feeding frenzy' feeding on one another (SMU)? Where are they now? Aren't they doing their jobs covering this story??? Can you imagine if this was SMU? TCU? Austin-American Statesman, DMN, Houston Chronicle??? WHERE ARE YOU???!!! VERY SAD & HYPOCRITICAL!!! BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Made all the news channels and papers here in Austin. Even saw it on ESPN.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?Apparently they are hiring Boise States OC
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
Send the story to the D.M.N.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? The departures of the assistants is no mystery. Muschamp and others took jobs at Florida. The Offensive Coordinator and other were pushed out due to a terrible season and Cleve Bryant and I think Maddog are gone likely because of the events described in the article.
CORRECTION: Maddog was retained today http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com ... ength.html "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? This articles describes some of the reasons. Muschamp went to Florida, Offensive Line Coach McWhorter (was allowed to) retire(they were awful), Bobby Kennedy was not retained but given opportunity to take a job at Colorado. Greg Davis was not retained/retired-not a big surprise and has been rumored for years

Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? If you watched Pony Excess, you'll remember that the feeding frenzy for the SMU story occurred between two big city newspapers (eventually one of them lost and folded a few years later). And the story was in their own back yard. Hitzges summed it up perfectly. What happened at SMU couldn't happen at any of the other SWC schools, because reporters would have to TRAVEL, and that costs money.
Those two papers were also competing with each other for the eyeballs of Dallas readership, during a time when people still actually read newspapers as their primary, and sometimes, only news source and things printed in the paper were the first time many people learned about what was going on around town. Not any more. Newspapers are holding on to a thread of hope by claiming they are more "in-depth" with their stories than other media formats. While that may be true in some respects, they are way behind these days when it comes to being a source of the "scoop". Very little actual original investigative reporting goes on nowadays. A national media feeding frenzy only happens these days when something that's been videotaped goes viral on the internet these days (i.e. the "Golden Voice"). Once we get a youtube video or something posted that shows something salacious or even remotely suspect in nature involving TU players/coaches/etc or if someone comes forward and provides solid hard facts, THAT's when the shjt storm will roll into Austin and eyes will begin to focus. And TMZ will probably be the ones to get to it first. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
Watch out Crimson. There are some people on this board who can't abide any suggestion that UT is less than pristine.
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break?
I'm guessing there are more people who would relish and delight in seeing tu suffer, I would think - they just may not be as vocal, or as "typey" in this case. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

Her firm also doesn't waste time on cases that don't bring a lot of TV time. GO MUSTANGS!
Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? And some people don't think SMU deserved the Death Penalty for 5 probations in 10 years involving multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars of blatant cheating, payoffs, and lying by every significant member of the Board. the President, the AD, the administration, 2 Head Coaches and the Coaching Staff. Some people can't tell their head from their [deleted].

Re: When is the Texas Story Going to Break? No just writing a lovely Brief on the combined intricacies of the Uniform Commercial Code and an international treaty called the Convention on International Sales of Goods involving sales of goods between foreign corporations. Call the Tea Party-international law is being applied in suits involving Communist China.
