This report was put together by the most corrupt and vile organization in all of athletics. Any scholarships that will be revoked from schools would be an indictment of the selective enforcement philosophy it embraces.

I would hope that in the future, members will find a way to reform this out-of-control governing body.

have a drink. APR is one of the best things the NCAA has ever done. Now they just need someway to monitor the curiculum and concentration of athletes into junk classes. Its not all the NCAA's fault Ultimately it is the schools finding ways around the good intention legislation of the NCAA. But APR has forced schools to emphasize academics and force real sanctions on schools and players who have no business in school. I support the aim and intentions of the APR legislation completely.

Does anyone have an explanation for how incredibly bad the Basketball score was. The NCAA Database makes it almost impossible to check on yearly scores for all schools. But that SMU Basketball score of 875 may be among the worst in the Country or close to it.

Does not APR place academically credible schools such as SMU at a huge disadvantage? Anyone can stay eligable at Boise or Houston or giant state schools with enough basketweaving classes to fill a schedule. This is bad for us.

Spare me the altruistic intentions of the EVIL EMPIRE.

I support NOTHING that the NCAA creates/enforces because usually when the NCAA goes out of its way to tell everybody how good something is, it usually comes back to how good it really is for the NCAA.

That's mighty big brother of you hoping the EVIL EMPIRE will enforce some curriculum idea. Every university does things its own way -- and this is one area where the NCAA needs to stay the HELL out of it.

Shut the NCAA down and start over.

APR is a noble thought by the NCAA. But that horse is out the barn and down the road. I just hope that it doesn't cause Turner and the BOT to return to Pye like standards in admission. Looking at the football and basketball teams the past few years, I have been a bit concerned about kids' academic backgrounds and the number of players that JJ tried to dump for "academic" reasons a few years back. The revolving door in the basketball program for players was sooner or later going to jump up and bite us. You don't have players coming for a year and leaving without some issue with APR unless they were top academic students and decided to leave for Harvard. I don't think any of our departees qualify for that.

The Mitch said, in part:

Oh come on. For sleaze the NCAA high muckety-mucks do not hold a paper match to those at the top of the Olympics. Moreover, being an American organization there is a chance that some of the problems will be corrected over time.

I'd much rather see these results and a team that's winning than us at the top of the APR heap with with a team that's the laughingstock of D1 athletics
