Yes I know they are really good. Yes I know they return a bunch of experience. Yes Cyrus Gray is a beast.
BUT, of their 9 wins last year 4 were a joke, and two "big" programs had off years.

Stephen F Austin
Louisiana Tech
Florida International
Kansas (3-9)

And Tech and Texas had off years.

And yes I know we play a worse schedule and had a worse record.....but....you never know! aTm might be a bit hyped up this year and be a little over confident. GO PONIES!

it opened at -17 and the pros pushed it immediately to -14....In college you usually follow the professional money...

I think we likely get blown out by 3 touchdowns given the downward trend last season in the offense.

A&M is far better than Tech was.

If we played A&M in the last game and not the first, it'd be a lot better game.

The line is 14...anyone wishing to give me 3 TDs I will gladly take the bet...These guys are professionals, I expect the game to be close and within the 14...I would think with the hype line goes back to 15 and I think we cover...

On paper tam should win......thank goodness football isn't played on paper. that is why it is one great sport to watch. One poster said tam would have to do everything wrong. Disagree. A turnover here or there, a refs call, wind, rain, conditioning, noise, preparation, heat, penalties. If we play soundly in all areas and don't give up the big play then I think we have a good chance. The team that adopts best to how the game and refs are going will win! Remember last seasons predictions...their preseason qb was going to be Big 12 player of the year and a heisman candidate and Ut was going to win all but maybe one game and be in contention for national championship! I am anxious to see if their inexperienced qb can make plays besides just the basics. Can we stop Fuller on the outside fades and their running game? Can we move the ball consistently? Are we confident or just hopeful?

Stallion's Prediction is that I will have the best Tan at Kyle Field as I get off a Cruise Ship on Sunday morning.

There are a couple of things working in our favor for this game. 1) A&M has had a full offseason hearing how good they are. This greatly increases the chances they won't take us seriously and will come out flat. combine this with our ability to score quickly and aggie tendancy's to panic and they might get completely off their game by the end of the 1st QT. 2) A&M is relying on a talented but younge QB, younge QB often commit stupid turnovers, if we can win the turnover battle the game will be close if we disivsevly win it like +3 we will win th game. 3) Aggies always play to the level of their opponet especialy early in the season. 4) we have so many guys coming back and for the first game we will be healthy and will be facing them with our max amount of depth so it is less likely we run out of gass like we did against TCU. 5) finishing slow last year (I believe because of injuries to a lot of players who pushed through them) has taken a lot of pressure off and I think has made the kids even hungrier (look at the good results in the wait room and the spring).

I can't say i'm expecting to win but all of this makes me cautiosly optamistic.

EastStang,

I would not be surprised to see SMU depend a little more on the ground game in order to protect our thin depth on defense. In doing so, maybe we wear them down. I know SMU will have to play almost a perfect game to win, but I am counting on that to happen.
