Does anyone argue that it would have been a good thing to get him back here?

I am arguing that because we have 5 coaches who do 0 recruiting, we should have posted one outside his door till he re-upped...

I agree. I wonder if we were keeping in contact with him and still recruiting him.

SMU is not the only DI program that is guilty of this.

Well if we weren't then that really is pathetic. I was keeping up with him with several reports about how great he was playing. I thought the Coaches read Ponyfans. Maybe each one of us could focus on an area of Texas with quality prospects then the Coaching Staff , during their extended vacations, could just read Ponyfans to identify prospects in Texas.

They are the only Coaching Staff in Texas that just mailed Texas recruiting in this year

Stallion, I don't think the Coaching Staff is mailing it in Texas. I just think that they are going after more diamonds in the rough (except AK). Maybe that is the strategy and it may work.

Results on the field will be the best indicator of recruiting. No staff is perfect, everyone has a role in that regard, but thus far they have done a good job of finding and developing talent.

Maybe we had 3 posted there and that's why they haven't recruited anyone yet...

Give Phil Bennett some credit as well since all the O Line are his recruits.

Are you saying that we should start recruitng him now. We could throw our name in the hat since we still have several months to go.

Does anyone really know if SMU stopped recruiting him and if the staff chose to go in another direction?

Unless I missed a recent story talking about SMU's connection with him, I think it's fair to say we really don't know what SMU's position on Collins was.
