Re: PracticeI definitely plan on going to check out 1 or 2 practices next week. Anything to get through August faster. Just got my tickets to the ATM game today!

I know at 11 something this morning, the weather channel was reporting 99 degrees in Dallas. I was thinking they might need to start around 5:00 a.m. or so. The donkey's name is Kiki.

Re: Practicepractice is usually about 2 hours right?

Re: Practice

Re: Practice
No clue. At least put up some big shade tents - didn't see that last year. I hope there isn't any heat exhaustion problems, this summer is going to be brutal for all HS and Colleges.
Re: Re: Practice
It's 95 now midnight
Re: PracticeI know it is hot but you know when else it will be hot? when we are down in College station, or hosting teams here in September, Kids have to practice in it to lear how to handle it/ acclimate. An IPF is for bad weather days (Lightning Storms) so you can still practice.
Practice
It also allows you to keep practicing when the heat would normally require you to head inside. An IPF is a mandatory tool to be on an even playing field. Are you going to argue against weight rooms because you dint push against iron during games? "I think Couchem is right."

Re: PracticeNO i'm siply saying that I think its good to practice in the heat because you play in it, and you shouldn't move indoors just because it is hot.
Re: PracticeWe all understand you need to practice in the heat to acclimate, but this is cruel and inhuman punishment at 110 degrees. They should be able to practice outdoors for the bulk of the practice, and then be able to move indoors to supplement the practices for additional wind sprints etc. You can only do so much in this heat.
TAMU/TCU will be practicing indoors getting ready to play us and they will be in better shape because of it.
Re: PracticeI'm pretty sure TCU's IPF is not air-conditioned. I'm not sure that would be any better, really.
Re: Practice
Some heat is good, but when it is as hot as it is now, you are needlessly risking the lives of the players. The donkey's name is Kiki.
