Not sure why Pei is so loved. Everything he designed was ugly and totally impractical.

As a stand alone piece of design and structure I think the pyramid is handsome enough. Whether appropriate for the setting with antecedents well before the 18th century it certainly took (takes?) some getting used to. For some I suppose it is another must see in Paris, whether you visit the museum or not, and maybe that was the intent from the start.

Interesting that on the horny toads Rival's front page, there's a blurb about their first day of practice. "On Thursday in 109-degree conditions, the Horned Frogs held their first practice of the 2011 season. Although the conditions were hot, ... "

Looks like they practiced outside as well, or that there IPF isn't air conditioned. Interesting, although we still definitely, absolutely need an IPF ourselves.
