do you really want to get in bed with dan beebe and ut? ut is not long for the big 12. when they bolt mizzou ku and possibly k state aren't far behind. ou and okla st will also want to get out.
People [deleted] on Beebe a lot, but what choice did he have? In order to save the Big 12 last time around, he had to allow the LHN for Texas and promise the other schools the moon. He's like the cute nerdy chick who's boyfriend is being hit on by the prom queen

If Houston goes to the Big 12 who does CUSA get to replace Houston?

If Big 12 raids Houston then we are up a serious creek. TCU and Houston in BCS conferences. VOMIT.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Louisiana Tech? Troy? UNT? It's not pretty...I think we'd have to think long and hard about the MWC, perhaps?

Southern Miss could move into the west and the conference could find another eastern team like Navy. Because of the massive footprint of the conference there would be more options than just UNT

Bottom line: Ford, Sewell, Hunt, etc had better be in Orsini's ear with a boatload of cash. It's our one chance. If Houston beats us in this we fall another notch down the ladder.

This is where Steve O makes his money. If Big 12 thinking Texas school, we need to be doing everything possible to sweeten the deal to bring SMU in.

That's true, but the BE could raid CUSA of some combination of UCF, ECU, or Memphis

No way on ECU....
USF has blackballed UCF so far, we will see how much leverage they have

I believe this to be unlikely but Chronicle speculates on Houston to Big 12: http://blog.chron.com/cougars/2011/08/w ... an-for-uh/

I personally hope it's Houston AND SMU. Anyway you look at it I bet Baylor and SMU will be conference mates soon enough.

There's has to be a bigger shake out if A&M leaves. It won't be as easy as adding either SMU/Houston.
Anyways, like I told a friend of mine, Baylor is pretty close to joining us in purgatory. And a least that will bring me a little more solace if we aren't in a BCS conference.

Yes and no, size wise and football wise (hopefully changing) but Tech doesn't deserve PAC-12 we finished ahead of then in the Big XII standings in every single team sport this year. Plus they don't even bring in a good market...
