What's the rule for an AQ conference to retain that status? Big 12 could remain and simply backfill the seven lost teams -- and add four more to get to superconference size -- right?

Question is whether we can hold enough teams together from BIG 12 to keep its AQ status....

Prob will need to get boise involved for record purposes...would be a slam dunk if TCU wanted to join as well...

SMU and Houston along with top remaining Mountain West teams will join the remaining members of the Big 12 to form what will ultimately become the weakest of the four superconferences. But we'll have our AQ status and will have survived. We may carry along TCU too to the new Big 12 as it makes a lot more geographic sense for them.

Big East will be split up too and everybody knows it. If B12 can retain AQ status and then backfill and expand to 16, I'd think it'd be awfully geographically attractive to a TCU. And they'd get to retain existing rivalries rather than starting anew there.

After a new TV Contract does anyone really believe the Pac 12 is going to jump and dilute the TV pie without some assurance of renegotiation in the next few days?

Give me a break.

As I stated earlier the 4 cali schools had to hold their respective noses to admit Colorado and Utah (much less the Arizona schools back in the day) so I'm sure USC and Stanford (the two privates) as well as the two UC's will be thrilled to be joined by Two Okies and TT!

So help me here. Is it that any PAC 12 school can veto a new school or only Stanford/USC? I just have a really hard time figuring out how a 4-year Juco like TT is going to end up in the PAC-16. BLOWS MY MIND!!!!

Every member has a black ball but the four California schools are the most likely to play the dilution of the academic standards black ball.
