Making a crude point in that I don't care if the kids sing after a game or not. Not all athletes want to sing or do anything public especially after a lose and especially after being humiliated.

If Padron ran off that field cause he couldn't wait to get to a place where he can start processing what happen and preparing for his next needed action, then that's cool by me.

To be honest, it is nice for the fans to have the team sing with the students but I never understood how that works into some kids psyche that need time to be alone and process a loss.

It isn't about the singing. If the team does x every game, as a team, then it says something about what you think of the team when you skip it for no discernibly positive reason. No different than if he skips the team walk through because june yelled at him.

It doesn't say a damn think about the team. These are ultra competitive athletes. ITs one thing to let your team down. ITs another to be humiliated on national TV. A kid doesn't want to be around his team or even look them in the face. IT isn't because he isn't a team player, it is near unendurable shame.

Padron just wanted to be alone and get his act together. He is embarrassed and insecure with his teammates. He doesn't want to face them in his current deep funk of shame. How his teammates respond is more important. They can pull him through this or they can cut him loose. If they do, then he is done. And they won't care whether he sings well or not. They will care if he gets his act together and improves.

Now he either gets better or he doesn't. Either way, the team benefits.

And walking with the team before a game has very little shame factor involved. Screwing up early in a game and getting benched (and costing a team a chance) is a far different situation.

I don't give a flying flip at the moon for singing after a game. I do understand the shame this kid is feeling and the real question, the most interesting thing about this whole debacle, is how Padron responds in just 5 days.

His whole damn team got humiliated on national tv yet he was the only one that ran into the locker room and didn't stay with the team.

When are we going to find a QB that is a MAN?

He looked upset? Would you have preferred to see him laughing on the sideline?

He didn't play well. The team didn't play well. He got benched. We got beaten.

If I had a sideline pass, you would have seen me looking pissed off, too. I like the fact that he doesn't like it when he and/or the team has a bad day.

I think you are overly hung up on the singing.

I'm hung up on locked jawed athletes that are focused like laser beams on the job at hand. And whatever it takes to get their head straight and improve their performance.

Padron has his entire life to commune with his teammates. He has countless Letterman activities until he dies. He has 23 college games (at most) left in his life to accomplish what he wants to accomplish. His window is very limited and don't think for a second he doesn't know it.

I hope he didn't just run in because was mad about being pulled. Players get pulled all the time but they still stay with the team.

I would spank my kid if he pouted on the sidelines at a little league game and ran to my car instead of staying with the team after the game just because he didn't play well or got pulled. I hope there is something else to this that we don't know about.

Dickerson pouted
James pouted.
They turned out pretty good.
Probably didn't respond the way you'd hope but let's see how he resonds Monday

They may have but they never did not so publicly at a game that I can recall.

I recall. Especially when James was threatening to transfer. These guys were not just good, they were highly competitive and wanted to play. And that drove each to be better.

Our group was seated with 2 Big 12 South former Cheerleaders from Texas Tech and Okie St. -male cheerleaders who were very much in love. I am not making this up. Don't tell smupony94 or I will never live it down

I mean directly after a game.
