I am happy all of the bus group, and everyone else who made the trip apparently made it back ok.

1)We came out of the game relatively healthy (at least physically). No major starters injured. I would have bet against that.

2) not even June is crazy enough to try another on-sides kick

3) QB controversies sometimes result in better QB play. (of course they also sometimes result in a whirwind of team chaos - but i will leave that for pony snob to point out)

4) Had we won we would have become unsufferably cocky - and we are all much better and humble people now that we can assume our natural role of rooting for the underdog.

I know we hear that after every game. But honestly, at least JJ McD was generally able to make the reads and throw to the open receiver. Padron has not shown to consistently be able to do that, whether against TAMU or CUSA foes.

I did notice that, in particular on a play where he scanned it seemed like all 4 options, then threw back across the field to DJ for a first down

QB controversy or silver lining?

Start player A and if he's not getting it done, put in player B

I think that is what we are going to see until one guy steps up and makes it his job

i guess imagining how many yards Line would have gotten if they hadn't given up on him too early would be a silver lining?

-I only had to spend 24 hours in College Station and now I'm back at my place in Dallas.
-With a short week, the first Blvd of the season is just five days away.

SSL (selfish silver lining). Firstrowsports on the internet reception was good and will easily suffice as a replacement for channelsurfing. That is a big relief for those of us who don't have TV access to the games.

Except the toothless old lady that didn't want us to park the bus in front of her boarding house (or crackhouse).

mrydel, thanks for the thread. My silver lining nominations, in no particular order:

1. We didn't get beat 66-8.
2. The game wasn't a day earlier where it would have been unbearably hot.
3. We had plenty of lemonade and beer for the ride home.
4. Line is the most consistent and rock solid guy on the team. Wish we had more like him and we will when his brother gets here.
5. Wilkerson is back.
7. I am not as hungover as I thought I would be.
8. SMU got to play in a great atmosphere. As bad as the outcome was, I imagine the guys will learn from it and be better for it.
9. While the team didn't play well, they didn't give up. Seemed to me we fought to the end.
10. Great company on the bus and it is great that a lot of SMU fans made the trip.

I know you can't give out game balls in a loss, but if I could...

Zach Line: who the very biased B12 announcers said "is like Mike Alstott, but with better feet". I can think of a lot worse things to say about an RB! :D

DJ and Besley: DJ made all the tough grabs like he usually does, but he also did't drop any of the easy ones (like he often does). Beasley was his usual, productive, reliable self, which is saying a lot when your playing against defenders who are bigger and obviously very athletic.

LeRibeus: absolutely manhandled his guy on one play where he pulled from the LG position to spring Line for a big gain. No way he's able to more that fast at 360 or whatever he got to.

Special teams game ball goes to Margus of course. He's now within two blocks of the NCAA record if I read the paper correctly.

Not sure if anyone on the D had enough of a breakout game to earn an e-game ball, but if I had to name anyone it'd be TReed. The couple of times he got to the QB, Tannehill folded like a deck of cards. So I was glad to see we got a few licks in.

On D I'm giving the game ball to T-Reed. Not because he had a breakout game or anything, but he did get to
