Have you guys read that board? It's CRAWLING with posts from Aggies supporting McJunkin.

Hope you heal quickly Blake. I've never been a fan of SMU, but I'll be pulling for you guys the rest of this year.

And:

Class act...That kid just had a hell of an interview for when he graduates, would definitely want him representing my company!

And:

McJunkin was a beast until he got hurt... watch his block on Line's 27 yard run that was reviewed downed at the 1 yard line. He took out three of our linemen with one block.

I thought the game certainly turned when he was out of it.

Just watched that video of the face-shield... that is incredible sportsmanship. Kudos to such a fine young man.

And:

Blake - you are a quality person and we all wish you the best of luck as you heal up! You guys played hard and we are proud of all the players on both sides who gave it their all on Sunday night. Good luck to you guys. Pony Up and Go SMU! Go win the conference!

And:

Blake, your sportsmanship may go unnoticed by the media, but we took note and thank you for it. You're a class act, sir, and we'll be pulling for you.

And:

Imho hiring this guy (after graduation) is just as good as hiring an Aggie, you business owners.

And:

Even before I found out about this, I was hoping that SMU would win their conference this year.

I will be looking forward to Blake returning to the team as they keep their program heading in the right direction.

Tip of the cap to a classy individual.

Well played, Aggie fans.

As a loyal resident of Arkansas, and one who sold soft drinks at Razorbacks games while a young man, and followed the Razorbacks for years prior to becoming a Pony, all I can say is in a couple of weeks:

"Beat the HELL out of Arkansas" "Gig 'em".

I am very impressed with these remarks for one of our guys. They may be well deserved remarks but not often are they expressed on these venues.

I sure don't want to seem to be wishing this young man bad luck, but am curious. If he were unable to play again this season would he be eligible for a medical redshirt?

If it was deemed a season ending injury, yes he would be eligible to apply for a medical hardship at the end of his eligibility. However, I do not see a first game, high ankle sprain as being season ending. He cannot just sit out the remainder of the year, he must be medically deemed to not being able to play. It will be best to get him back on the field ASAP.

Thanks for the information. Really, I was just curious. It does not sound to me like he has any intention of sitting around after getting a medical clearance. It also occurs that he has enough going for himself that he might not want to spend an extra year in college.

From what I have heard I understand high ankle sprains can take some time to recover from, hope that is not the case.. It is nice to hear the comments from the Aggie board about Blake. Thanks to all of the Aggies and their kind words..

I have to say something to add to this lovefest. I have never known a classier group of fans at any level, Pee Wee to the Pros, than those in College Station. Here I am walking around in my SMU gear on Sunday and multiple times Aggie fans took the time to walk over to me, shake my hand or put their hand on my shoulder, and say "Welcome." I was shocked. This kind of behavior happened during and after the game too.

A&M is a class school on the level with, or even above, the service academies. I hope they clean out the rest of their schedule and get to the big game.

The service academy fans are obnoxious and in general rude....It wasnt fun in Annapolis inside that stadium...

Marshall fans were very nice...

Hi guys, thought I'd add to the discussion on Blake, good luck the rest of the season!

From A&M AD Bill Byrne's Weekly Wednesday

Every year there are opportunities to make nominations for good sportsmanship awards via the NCAA and various conferences. We are going to recommend SMU lineman Blake McJunkin, number 63, receive a sportsmanship award. During an interception return, Trent Hunter lost his helmet. Blake McJunkin went out of his way to protect Trent as he cradled Trent’s exposed head during the tackle. That’s real sportsmanship.

WOW. Thanks for sharing that, riley290.

This outpouring of respect for Blake is really messing with my anti-Aggie leanings. Their fans — and athletic administration — have been nothing short of first-class.
