Re: SMU in ATLThis post is the same as I have been preaching for 3 years. There are plenty of good, smart kids who would love to come to SMU and the city of Dallas. There is no need to go out and sign the first kid who runs a 4.4 but doesn't have the same desire in the classroom as on the field. Ironically, so many of the SMU supporters and alumni have taken for granted what a special place this is since they grew up in this enviroment. Let me ask as an example for fans...would you rather tailgate among 86,000 people on the aggie campus and sit in the clouds and clouds of dust listening to traditional but antiquated songs or be among 32,000 in Dallas on the beautiful SMU campus under the shade of those beautiful live oaks and have just a few more choices after the game than the dixie chicken? And the band and alumni band...wow. Bigger is not better and becomes too big at a point.
