Re: TurnoversMaybe JJMcD is our version of Trent Dilford, he is not pretty but gets the job done.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: TurnoversI prefer apple.
Re: Turnovers
Dilfer got the job done because he was backed by an all-time great defense. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Turnovers
Point being he got the job done. Our D is playing well, i am not saying they are the Ravens, it looks like they are going to be key to a good season or bad season GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Turnovers
Our defense is good but not good enough to make up for inconsistency from our QB. The better teams are going to kill us because we won't be able to keep up offensively and our defense will get hung out to dry. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: TurnoversOur D is good enough to win most games in this league with an average offense-because the other teams have terrible defenses

Re: Turnovers
No, they are not, and if he puts up something comparable next week against TCU or against a top-tier conference team, I'll gladly get on board. Doing it against a defense that ranks near or at the bottom of D1 football doesn't show whether he is really the man or not. He was mediocre against aTm (expected, given the circumstances), mediocre against UTEP, mediocre against an FCS team, and solid today against probably the easiest conference game we will have this year. If he plays TCU the way he played Memphis, those numbers go WAY down. As for the turnovers, I don't know what bugs me more right now: us losing the ball, our D (though spectacular in almost every other way) not producing many, or the absurd false start penalties our offense keeps getting called. With the experience on the o-line, that kind of stuff should not be happening with the frequency it has been. Just no excuse for it. To paraphrase Klemm "noise wasn't an issue today" as it looked like there were only about 20 Memphis fans in the stands anyway (at least on TV), so they need to figure out why that continues to be a problem. "I don't think anyone around the country has any idea how good we are going to be." - Coach Justin Stepp

Re: TurnoversIf he puts up those numbers next week, we're on here celebrating a win.
Re: TurnoversThe problem with the turnovers isn't as much the defense's lack of creating turnovers, but the failure on offense to secure the ball, particularly fumbles and receivers especially. They should not be fumbling like they have done each game this year. We have had a receiver fumble in every game, and sometimes two. These mistakes will be killer in big games.
