Re: Keep things in perspective....IIRC the student at Hawaii was Brian Kajiyama. JJ is much more than just a coach. He cares about people. When was the last time you read or saw and article about Mack or fatterson doing something good for a child/person? We can be proud that JJ is at SMU.
GO PONIES!!!

Re: Keep things in perspective....hey, how do you embed the video? did I do that wrong?
Re: Keep things in perspective....Although I have been reading Ponyfans since day one, this is my first post and thought it might be appropriate since that is my son everyone is talking about. He is a huge Mustang Fan and I am thankful for it (I guess my brainwashing worked). This is a big week for him. His grandad played at TCU in '67-' where as I played at SMU from '89-92. Kelan hates when SMU loses this game- so bad he won't talk to his grandad for weeks.
Some of you might have seen us around the stadium. We usually sit in sec 206 - 1st row. I couldn"t get season tickets this year due to losing my job, but luckily my old roommate and teammate Matt Duncan always finds a spot/ makes room for us in our old seats. Stop by and say hello, He would love to meet you. He rides his red scooter the games and may have run over some of your toes before (we apologize). We know Brian Kajiyama. Kelan speaks to him frequently on facebook. Brian has inspired Kelan to do many things he or we never would have thought he could do. Brian has inspired our family and I hope Kelan continues to touch other people much like Brian has. I saw a post that "Hopefully JJ doesn't make him wear a lei"- well Kelan may just wear one to honor Brian and I think that will be ok too. Thank you for all the kind words. And as Kelan would say- let's beat the snot out of TCU!!!

Re: Keep things in perspective....9289- thanks for posting. The Mustang nation wishes the best for Kelan. I hope he really enjoys being on the sideline. Tell him to 'beat the snot' out of CP.

9289 - Please click the "email us" option in my signature and include your mailing address. I really like the optimism for life and the passion your son has for SMU and would like to make him an honorary Red And Blue Army member and send him our member's scarf. Also, could you post a child brain-washing manual? Great job/great father! Last edited by SMUer on Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Keep things in perspective....The story choked me up (I'm at Fondren Library too so people are probably wondering what's up with me :p ). And it's great to see 9289 post here too. I'll have my eyes out for Kelan in the next home game. Hopefully by then we'll both be sporting our Red and Blue scarves! Great gesture SMUer, and 9289, keep doing what you're doing. You can tell that confidence shines through Kelan, a magnificent feat considering too many kids I know seem to lack that nowadays.
Re: Keep things in perspective....Thanks for all the kind words. This has been a busy day to say the least. See everyone at the UCF games after we beat TCU.
Re: Keep things in perspective....
thanks! I just knew that someone felt sorry for me.
