If the other bcs-BS conferences are at their limits for taking anymore schools, then the Big East will survive - & may prosper. In three to five years, the BE may be stronger than the ACC in football if they choose wisely now. Who knows, every conference has a run (of success) & you have to capitalize on it while it's hot. Who knows anymore??!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

TCU offered BCS points, we don't.

Somewhat similar academics, size of schools and athletic budgets. SMU gives the BE a presence in Texas which is what TCU offered. If two or three service academies sign on preferably three, the BCS will feel pressure to keep the BE a AQ conference. For SMU it offers schools which we have a better chance of competing with, even dominating. Down the road ND might see the sense of joining the BE because of the above factors, which would really enhance the BE.

With Orsini, who knows??? He's always working the angle.

Like StallionsModelT quipped awhile back, there is always that independence angle with 10-year contracts with schools. Anything could work as long as it's recognized in the polls, bowls & all else like they worked it for ND & BYU. Its fluid & anything is possible but my $$$ is on our AD.

Big East will have an AD/Pres conference call tomo. Among discussions will be raising exit fee to $10 million range.

Damn so when we pull a TCU it's going to cost us $10 million instead of $5 million.

Exactly which Big East schools or potential schools do you think will be better than FSU, GT, UNC, VT?
