Only because ECU applies to the BE every other week. Had to throw them in there.

Hey, my view has always been that if a BCS conference comes calling, you have the right to go there. Lateral moves are out in my view. I don't fault any school which shakes its booty at a BCS conference. Its worth it financially and worth it prestigewise. I viewed TCU's move from CUSA to the MWC as lateral. The competition was about the same, it was just an easier conference to dominate since you didn't have games with Houston, USM, SMU, UCF, ECU and Marshall.

We're a little different than other conferences because we don't think universities that are aspiring to be better is a bad thing. We want them to get the highest opportunities they can, but in the process we want them to be respectful of our conference. And also while they're here, we want them to be strong members and contribute to our conference. But I don't have a problem with our universities wanting to be associated with a BCS AQ conference.

Where is the 'merger' info they've been talking about? It appears both commishes (of the CUSA & Mountain Goats) would be quickly trying to finish that to avoid these potential defections? That would be one way on how to avoid these issues. Maybe it was a smokescreen? What's sad is that CUSA is not very proactive?
