And the biggest improvement Garrett Gilbert has made is that "he's a competitive kid"

" If you ever doubted June Jones you deserve nothing but scorn. I’d call June Jones hand him a blank check, sit back, relax and watch the wins roll in. June Jones has made a distinct claim to being one of the top coaches in the country. "

I have to admit I thought we would win CUSA. I will be tough now. Houston game is critical.

It's ok dude - I know you want the best for SMU.

This is sad for everyone.

Sorry it's taken me so long to see this. Yet another example of the judgmental nonces on this board. Very few people on here know me or what I think. I am an SMU fan. That's the beginning and end of it.

Today was rough. We didn't play well. But we should have won. Slightly better execution and we win easily.

Just like any coach in any sport, firing the coach is often a knee jerk reaction. This is not the time. If by the end of the season we don't see much better offensive production then I will be really concerned. This has not been the way I hoped and believed the season would go so far but like everything in life it is a process. Either the kids get better or they don't. If they don't, then we find out why.

Anyone who wants to pigeonhole what type of SMU fan I am, go right ahead. I have my views, but I don't know much about the details of football having never played the game.

I do like the fact that people that have always hated JJ are taking this moment to call out people who support the coach of our team.

Funny, I never saw this thread. Does anyone remember what happened the next week? And how did the season turn out?

We got a bowl game at a poor 6-6 season. If we beat two teams we should have then we would not have had to eke out a win over Tulsa.

No, I'm asking what happened almost the moment this gleeful prediction of your own team's doom was predicted. What happened the very next week? What was the team's record those final few games? No way we make a bowl after getting beat by Tulane, but if we miraculously did, how did we play in that game?
