I believe the overall wide receiver group improved when Austin Fuller took over for Holman in the latter part of last season and that we need another bigger physical receiver at this outside spot. I am not sure if Halverson fits well or not, but whomever it is we need a lot more productivity from.

Gabe Marks, Robert Lewis III, Chris Harper, Gherig Dieter would solve all your problems.

I don't think Marks could survive at SMU academically, so you guys just need to get over that. And at 5'6.5 and 140 lbs. (yeah, I'm fully aware of what Rivals' tape measure says), Lewis would only be lining up outside on a Pop Warner team -- so don't cry over that one either. There may be other explanations for our coaching staff's perceived indifference when it comes to certain recruits.

It's not that they can't catch. We have seen them do it. The problem was that there were games when they were inconsistent, to say the least. I don't know if that's just a matter of concentration, but let's hope it improves this year.

Didn't Marks end up at WSU under Leach? Didn't seem to solve any problems there - they managed to lose to CU last year - and that was with a pretty good QB.

Peruna Punch has a point about Lewis, even if we do run the Run n Shoot offense.

And we had Dieter and it didn't help.

Here's hoping Mumme can help fix the problems.

Very odd to single out the one game against CU, considering they were 3-9 overall, but I just looked and Marks had 7 catches for 107 yards and a TD in that game which they lost 34-35. It was just the 4th game of his college career. Why would you mention that game specifically? I guess because it was Colorado's only win?

Regardless, for the season Marks was their second leading receiver with 49 catches for 560 yards so I am not sure why you are implying he did not do well.

Looking at their QB stats they had one guy with 332 attempts and one with 291 attempts, so they were definitely splitting time. One had 8 TDs and 8 interceptions, the other had 15 TDs and 13 interceptions. Which one was the pretty good QB?

The QB was Jeff Tuel, who as it turns out was injured most of the year. Coming into season some had him as the third best QB in the conference, behind Barkley, and I think the kid at Arizona. But regardless Wazzou wasn't much last year, being 3-9 and with the only decent win coming against Washington at the end of the season.

Yes, I singled out CU because they were HORRIBLE (and are expected to be possibly worse this year) and it does go to show how bad WSU was.

Point is, Marks didn't help a very bad team very much, at least last year. Hard to see him being the 'answer' to anything on our team.
