Re: More from the SMU weight room315=barbell and 3 plates on each side
+a ten on each side =335 +a 2 1/2 on each side =340 +the clamp on collar on each side =341
Re: More from the SMU weight roomYeah, I guess you wouldn't want that to slide off. Never even thought about the clamps weighing anything.
Re: More from the SMU weight roomThe rubber weights used for power lifting are in kilograms, hence the weird weights.
Played in the June Jones Era
Re: More from the SMU weight roomSo 155 kilos then. That makes more sense
Re: More from the SMU weight room

So the guys doing 340 weren't safe?
Re: More from the SMU weight room
Not so fast my friend. Under Rossley, we had the #2 OL in the country (size), to Nebraska... Fat dumb and stupid is no way to go through life.

Re: More from the SMU weight room
Thought I remembered seeing something a few years back about tcu having some record number of guys benching over 400lbs? Am I making that up?
Re: More from the SMU weight roomMore than a couple years, but this is what i was thinking of. From an article in ESPN mag in 2000:
"After thumbing through all the pre-season annuals, you're probably sick of stats. But here's one more that's worth digesting: When Dennis Franchione came to TCU, only five Horned Frogs could bench press 400 lbs. Now, two and a half years later, TCU has an astounding 50 players putting up at least 400! Most teams don't even have half that. Every offensive starter at TCU would be over 400 if QB Casey Printers didn't have a sore back when he got tested this summer. (Printers got 390 pretty easily last spring.)"
