Agree 100% with this. I like Wright but we are very thin everywhere else along the line IMHO. I really hope Zach Wood proves me wrong. And we are just plain sad on the other end. I hope I'm very very wrong.
I love how you think all of our DEs are sad now that Holloway got moved.

By year 6, shouldn't we have some depth?

Evidently he's grown a lot. As much as JJ likes to spin yarns, he's evidently a stickler for reporting accurate heights and weights. Note that players usually measure out the same when they're measured/tested by the NFL as they do when they're here.

I generally agree with accurate weight and height comments ... with a few exceptions ... They list PL at 6' no way, 5'10 at best. I've stood next to him and he is at least 3" shorter then me .. even guys on the team chuckle at that.

Yes PL being the younger Line. I agree with you Junior. B Barnes showed potential last year and played we. IMO (shoulders staying healthy), he will will have a good year. He is the prototypical college ... DE now ... 6' 4"-5" ... 250-265 ... quick, strong and athletic. I think he's good and with a lot of up side.

5' 10 1/2" hmmm OK, and I'll bet you $100 he is not 6' ... I'm not picking at, or picking on PL. Just talking about how some of the roster info is not always accurate. I recall when Connor Preston was headed this way ... everything I saw said he was 6'2" ... well for all of us who have seen him, we know that is not true.

Barnes looks skinny when you compare him with the frame of McClenegan. And no, I don't think Mason would publicly say that he doesn't like the d-line. But I think there is a big difference between Jones and Mason when talking to the media. Jones talks big about certain players, almost tries to oversell. "DJ is the best receiver I have ever had." Mason is more low key. He doesn't say negative things but he only says really positive things if he really believes they are a strength. And he has said several times that he thinks we are 2.5 or 3 players deep on the line, and that he isn't worried about it.

I think Barnes is built like T Thompson .. leaner build. He is not going to have that wide thick frame. Again, at least at the colligate level, I think he is more typical of DE ... lean, athletic, speed/quickness, with strength. Think of guys built like .. Jerry Hughes TCU ... Monpango TCU ... Miller of UCF etc.
I've said many times, I trust in Mason also. If it's a particular player he starts that we may not get, or if he says we have depth at a position{s}, or don't worry about the DL ... if Mason is good with it, so am I.

Beau Barnes is a walk on and can't be compared to Maponga or any of those guys. Come on. Not nearly as athletic as Thompson. He's a practice squad type of guy. Not very strong. I hope Minor matures quickly and McCleneghan can step up. I'm liking the idea of moving Zach Wood inside along with perhaps Elie. Rotate those guys in.

I think the comparisons where more related to body type than saying Barnes has as much talent as those guys

What does it have to do with being a walk on? Clay Mathews was a walk on.

Yes my reply was geared toward a body type comparison.
However, I do think he played solid last year {with a shoulder that needed surgery} and has upside potential to be a very good player ... he still has two years to grow and develop. I'm not going to throw him under the bus and relegate him to the practice squad just because he walked on at SMU. Again, if Mason likes him and has him out there ... fine with me.
