Hopefully that bit about Crawford being tight with Griffin is true. There seem to be a lot of stories about the perceived tension between Griffin and Shanahan, and if push comes to shove, Griffin is going to win. The star player always wins.

well, who knows how close they are, but every little bit helps, I guess.
here's the source:

Perhaps the most revealing section noted that Griffin doesn't have many close male friends. When asked to name his best friend on the team, it took Griffin a while to come up with cornerback Richard Crawford.

well, this is hopeful:

If Crawford, who on Saturday tore his left anterior cruciate, lateral collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments, and Kimbrough, who in the preseason opener tore the labrum in his right shoulder, both clear waivers, they will revert to Washington’s injured reserve list.

Everything I've seen has said that the Redskins really like Crawford, and they are thin in secondary depth. I can't imagine they wouldn't try to keep him on IR.
