I'm sure the shills will break out these gems

"We're still undefeated in conference"

"Michigan and Virginia Tech bounced back from losing to 1-AA teams"

"Give Montana State some credit they could beat a lot of 1-A teams"

Pencil it in because we do what we do.

I know a definite silver lining

SMU played great in run defense-a lot better than I thought they would

No need to run when your freshman walk on is kicking our deleteds in the air.

GG
Defense until mid 4th quarter. I thought they played lights out first 3 quarters.
Offense wrinkles (no more running to the sideline!) -> Joseph and how they are using Gaines and Lagasse

Top FCS teams are no walkover. Ask Kansas State.
Of course, I think we should win.

Again, the problem with that post in year 6 of Juneses career here, "I think we should win" over an FCS team. Great stuff June. Maybe you should retire to Arizona because you wanted to go so much. Too bad they wouldn't take you.

Look Corso (ie loser) I did not say they would be a walkover but we should win.

I thought the defense played exceptionally well until Rambo got injured.

Once that happened, our middle linebackers couldn't stay with the Tech receivers on crosses over the middle. It was a major turning point in the effectiveness of their offense.

Also, it looks like the D-line is going to be just fine.

the nickel package seemed to do okay, with JR outside and Parks in the slot.

I thought McCarthy did a decent job at RG when he was in there. The starter there got beat a few times.

Greenbauer is a steady reliable tackler in the open field. I think he missed one on last TD but saved about 3-4 TDs earlier

The band played Blurred Lines which some had said "They need to play more stuff like Blurred Lines."

TTU took the opening kick and drove for a FG. We took the ensuing kick and drove starting inside our twenty down the field and got a FG. We answered TTU's drive with a very long, well executed drive and score of our own. We have not done that against an AQ team in an opening game in forever.

Despite horrible field position the entire game, we rarely left the D with a short field.

They couldn't establish a run game and they were suppose to have a good line and good backs.

Finally executed an onside kick.

Very solid red zone D early. Once we were gassed late that changed.

Great end of half with very little time drive to get 3 points. That was a huge answer to TTU's TD drive and showed poise and execution.

Best things to take away from the game:

1. Darius Joseph is a stud

2. Run defense is quite good for a young group

3. Gilbert was better
Back off Warchild seriously.
