LHS- great letter and thanks for the effort. I hope you get a real response instead of the usual spin that avoids any true action.

It is a good letter and makes salient points. I hope that Hart and Turner will pay attention. However, I bet they do not because I believe both Hart and Turner approach their jobs with the same mindset as a salesman or politician. This means they respond to pressure from their customers. We are the customers. One letter, no matter how thoughtful, will not bring change. It will bring a consolatory response, but not change. (unless the letter is from someone who can fire them) If you, like I, want a coach who can do a better job, then take the time to write your own letter to Turner & Hart. Also salesmen and politicians do not like public scrutiny. Therefore, start taking every opportunity to call for change with newspapers, radio, & TV. Use social media - facebook & twitter. One or two people will not get the job done, but several hundred will. If you know reporters call them and ask them to go ask Turner the tough questions. In other words in addition to complaining on the forums, it behooves all of us to put as much pressure as we can on Turner and Hart.

IMO we also need to send those type of letters to Sewell, Ford, Hunt et al. BTW- does anybody have email addresses for the above individuals so that concerned parties can email them? TIA if you can post them here.

I appreciate the comments and agree that most likely the response will be the usual BS, but I just felt it had to be said. I would love to send it on to Sewell, et.al. but do not have access to those individuals. If anyone does and is willing to share how to get in touch with them, please PM me as I would be more than happy to do so.

Ryan98- I would like to see those contacts listed here on pf so that numerous persons can contact them.. I don't believe one or two people will make a difference but if they receive dozens of comments perhaps they will get the idea that changes need to be made.

Great idea about having your letter in the Daily Campus. Somebody might also send a copy to some of the DMN sports writers that cover SMU. They just might find it interesting enough to put it in their paper.

Red - the DC and DMN are great ideas (I'll send it to bill nichols; maybe he's willing to put it out there since all he has to do is copy and paste it :) ), and I agree that we need as many people of influence to hear from as many of us as possible to have any hope of moving the needle. I just don't know how comfortable people on this board with access to those folks would feel about posting contact information on an open forum for both supporters and trolls alike to see and subsequently harrass them, which is the only reason I asked for a PM if they felt more comfortable that way. I think a lot of us have a wide range of opinions and constructive suggestions; I just don't know how to voice them en masse without the trolls jumping in and abusing some of our most distinguished supporters.

How about having somebody read aloud the letter at the next Board of Trustees meeting? Would that do any good? I wonder if they would give an alum some time to present/discuss it. Just an idea.

Could blow it up, and put it on a billboard on Central Expressway close to campus

Might be kind of hard to read from a distance and at speed.
Maybe just a billboard with a giant 'FIRE JJ NOW' would get the point across. I'll donate some $ if somebody wants to start a kitty for that purpose.

Let's be fair, Orsini simply wanted to go a different direction for a young coach with national credentials. His vision was probably the right way to approach any coaching search in virtually every situation; however, the only coach in the country with the credentials and who could be the exception was available, interested and wanted the job. Yep, Orsini made a huge mistake by not initiating dialogue for more than 4 weeks and it was a element in his ultimate dismissal. I would not call Orsini and idiot, but rather remiss for not understanding all of his options.

Also if the DC doesn't want to publish it, we can just take out ad space. I can't believe that in the Daily Campus that ad would be too expensive.
