The reason I hate tech is because when I went to Lubbock, aka, The butthole of America, their fans were some of the worst people I've ever met in my life. I would never go back to that hell hole and I have a very low opinion of anyone that goes there because of that. Why would you want SMU to be known as a bunch of asssholes?

Sorry you had a poor experience in Lubbock. I haven't heard or read a single complaint by Tech fans about their treatment by SMU fans. So kudos for your gracious hospitality. The only thing almost all Tech fans have mentioned is how much male SMU fans favor wearing pastel colors...not that there's anything wrong with that.

One thing I'll say about Tech is that do have some crowd abuse issues in Lubbock-there is a whole segment that takes pride in creating that environment in Lubbock- but I have gone on their boards and the abusive fans are often called out by many posters who are trying to curb that

Yell for your team not against your opponent. Or go watch wrestling. That's not what College sports is about. And by the way how is that inclusive of other Dallas sports fans?

Ha. I know you sit by my dad in that section, and my mom told me there were a few total [deleted] talking trash to even other SMU fans, one claiming to be a player, and some people almost starting fights.

I sat in the stadium club seating (love the bar/food/AC up there, and the women working are a lot better looking than the women at the concession stands). I cheered loud and was not sure if I was going to be told to sit down/shut up. Surprisingly that did not happen. I did hear several people say stuff towards players/the team that in my mind is extremely childish for a grown man to say about a 19 year old college student, but those people are in every fan base.

I went to SMU @ Tech probably 7-8 years ago and the SMU student section did the "thats alright, thats okay , yall are going to work for us someday" chant several times. I laughed.

There was almost a fight in 204. Old tech guy and a young smu guy. I think they were arguing because another young smu guy was drinking a natural light in the stands.

I'm all for friendly banter with opposing fans but we shouldn't be making opposing fans feel uncomfortable in our stadium because we sure as hell can't fill it ourselves.

We need to keep scheduling Baylor, TCU, UNT, A&M (if they'll have us), Okie State, etc. No more Tech. I'm tired of gutter trash polluting our campus.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I'd like to see us get Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss. St. on the schedule for that 4th OOC game. Would be great to have an SEC team at Ford

Agreed. I just don't know interested those schools would be in playing a road game at SMU. Maybe good for recruiting.

I think it would be great in their eyes for recruiting. Also, lots of SEC alums in DFW and it's an easy place to get to for visiting fans travelling

It doesn't help when Jerry World is taking every out of conference matchup of teams wanting DFW exposure.

Right...I'm saying schedule the teams that aren't playing there. So not LSU, A&M, Arky, but Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy
